Applicant privacy
LDE Ltd, an AtkinsRéalis company, collects the details you give us on this site. Our address is Unit 23, 210-218 Victoria Street West, Auckland 1010. This page covers applications; our general privacy policy is at lde.co.nz/privacy.
What we collect
- Your name, email, mobile and the suburb, town or country you live in.
- Your answers about work rights, location, qualifications, experience and the role questions.
- Your CV and, if you add one, your cover letter.
- If you email your CV to employment@lde.co.nz instead of using this site, the email itself: your name and email address as they appear on it, what you wrote and the files you attached.
- How you heard about us and, if someone referred you, their name.
- Which website or ad brought you here, for example Seek or LinkedIn, so we know which advertising works. We read this from the link you clicked and the site you came from. We don't use tracking cookies.
- While you fill in the form, your browser keeps a draft of your answers so a refresh doesn't lose them. The draft stays on your device, is cleared when you send your application, and goes when you close the tab.
Why we collect it
To consider you for the role you applied for or, if you sent a general application, for roles that suit you. Questions not marked optional are needed to assess you, and without them we can't consider your application.
We keep your details for 36 months after your last application, so we still have your application if you apply again or ask us about the outcome, and so we can contact you about other roles if you asked us to.
Who sees it
- LDE's HR team and the managers hiring for the role.
- An AI tool, Claude by Anthropic, reads your CV and your answers on this form and checks them against the role's requirements, such as the right to work in New Zealand. Anthropic processes the text outside New Zealand. A person makes every decision about your application.
- Your details are held in LDE's Microsoft 365 (SharePoint) tenant, which Microsoft stores in Australia. This website runs on Vercel's servers in Sydney, and your answers pass through them without being kept there.
- If something goes wrong on this site, an error report goes to Sentry, our error-reporting service, on its servers in Germany. Before a report is sent we take out your form answers, files, email address and phone number. Sentry records the approximate city the report came from, but not your IP address.
Apart from those service providers, who hold it for us, we don't share your details outside LDE without asking you first, unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- We keep your application and CV for 36 months after your last application.
- We contact you about other roles only if you tick "Keep me in mind for future roles" or you sent us a general application, which asks for exactly that.
- If you tick both boxes, we keep you in mind until we delete your details.
- If you tick "Delete my details 6 months after this vacancy closes", we delete them 6 months after the vacancy closes (6 months after you apply, if you sent a general application).
- You can ask us to delete your details at any time by emailing employment@lde.co.nz.
- The AI tool also keeps a log of the text it read from your CV on one LDE computer, which only LDE's IT administrators can reach.
- Deleted files sit in Microsoft 365's recycle bin for up to 93 days. LDE's records retention policy may also keep a copy of deleted files for longer, where only LDE's IT administrators can reach them.
- If you emailed your CV, we file it and keep it like an application made on this site. The email itself stays in our employment mailbox, which only the LDE staff who handle recruitment can reach, until we delete it. Email employment@lde.co.nz and we'll delete it sooner.
- If you're offered a job, your application becomes part of your employment records.
Your rights
You can ask to see or correct the information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing employment@lde.co.nz. If you're not happy with how we've handled it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
